What is Grammar (Nahawu)

GRAMMAR (NAHAWU)

Grammar is a way we arrange words to make proper sentence. Grammar, so someone said is the art of putting the right words in the right place. Let us see if we can discover what are the right place and the right words that go into them. All the words in English can be put, according to the work they do.

‘Grammar’ na nufin Nahawu, hanya ce da ake jeranta kalmomi domin a samu jimla mai cikakkiyar ma’ana. ‘Grammar’ wato Nahawu hanya ce da ake gina kalmomi a saka su a wajen da suka dace da juna. Zamu ga ko zamu iya gano kalmomi tare da jeranta su inda ya dace. Dukan kalmomin Turanci ana amfani su daidai da aikin da suka yi.

Therefore, grammar divided into two, these are:

1.       Words level grammar known as Part of Speech which consist eight classes of words, they are as follows:

1)      Nouns

2)      Pronouns

3)      Verbs

4)      Adverbs

5)      Adjectives

6)      Interjections

7)      Conjunctions

8)      Prepositions

2.       Sentence level grammar which consist:

1)      Clauses

2)      Phrases

3)      Reported speech, etc

Don haka, gramma wato Nahawu ya rabu zuwa gida biyu, su ne:

1.       Matakin kalma wanda aka fi sani da azuzuwan kalmomi wato ‘Part of Speech’ waɗanda suka rabu zuwa gida takwas, su ne kamar haka:

1)      Suna ‘Nouns’

2)      Wakilin suna ‘Pronouns’

3)      Aikatau ‘Verbs’

4)      Bayyanau ‘Adverbs’

5)      Siffatau ‘Adjectives’

6)      Bigire ‘Interjections’

7)      Tare da ‘Conjunctions’

8)      Mahaɗi ‘Prepositions’

2.       Matakin Jimla wanda ya haɗa da:

1)      Sashen Jimla mai ma’ana ko marar ma’ana ‘Clauses’

2)      Sashen Magana wanda ba fi’ili a cikinsa ‘Phrases’

3)      Rahoto ‘Reported Speech’
